Module 9: Welding Inspection and Testing

In this virtual lecture, Michael will discuss Module 9: Welding Inspection and Testing. This video corresponds with Module 9 in your textbook. Michael will discuss the weld joints, positions, parts of fillet and groove welds and how welds are measured and nondestructive and destructively tested. We will also discuss the cause and effect of weld discontinuities which are also referred to as weld defects. Understanding the weld defects and what causes them, you will understand how to visually inspect the weld and adjust the operator variables, machine settings, work angle, travel angle, and travel speed to produce a high quality weld with no defects.
